About Finland
Finland is a republic in Northern Europe. Helsinki is the capital and the largest city. About 5.6 million people live here. It borders Sweden, Norway and Russia, with a long Baltic coastline. Finnish and Swedish are official languages. The euro is the currency.
Finland joined the European Union in 1995, the euro area in 1999, and is in Schengen. It is a high-income Nordic market in technology, industry and professional services, with Helsinki as the commercial centre and close ties to the other Nordic capitals. English is widely used in business. The legal system is civil law.
Brikseka forms Finnish companies. The usual vehicle is an osakeyhtiö (Oy). No local director is required. Company documents can often be prepared remotely; identification, banking, or immigration may still require travel.
We then advise on a business bank account and payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal. Finnish banks typically expect a local connection. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Finland, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.
Company formation
We form an Oy with Finnish counsel, then stay with the file through banking and payments.
