Country overview
About Brazil
Brazil is a federal republic occupying much of eastern South America. Brasília is the capital; São Paulo is the commercial centre. About 213 million people live here. It borders every South American country except Chile and Ecuador, with a long Atlantic coast. Portuguese is the official language. The currency is the real (BRL).
Brazil is Latin America’s largest economy, with a deep domestic market and membership of Mercosur. São Paulo is the country’s financial and corporate hub. Company, tax and labour rules are substantial. A limitada is formed to do business in Brazil. Local direction and a visit are part of a realistic setup, not optional extras.
Brikseka forms Brazilian companies. The usual vehicle is a sociedade limitada (Ltda). A local director is required, and a visit is required. Formation typically takes four to twelve weeks, including the commercial board and CNPJ tax registration. Attorney, accountant and a Brazilian address are part of the file.
We then advise on a business bank account and payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal. Brazilian banks are opened in person, with CPF and CNPJ. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Brazil, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.
